Tipster Strike Rate Explained is part of Racing Tipster Radar's evidence-first guide to paid and free horse-racing tipping services. Our aim is not to promise winners. It is to help readers understand what a service says it offers, what evidence is available, and which questions still need answering before money is committed.

18+ only. Betting involves risk. No tipster can guarantee a profit, and past results do not establish future performance. Set limits and never bet money you cannot afford to lose.

Tipster Strike Rate Explained

Strike rate is the percentage of settled selections that win.

Strike rate = winning bets ÷ settled bets × 100

High strike rate is not the same as profit

A service backing short-priced favourites can win frequently and still lose money if prices are too short. A long-odds strategy can lose most bets yet still show a positive historical return.

Use it to understand experience

Strike rate helps indicate how often losing bets may occur, but average odds and sequences matter too. A low strike-rate approach can involve long losing runs.

Performance claims require evidence. Useful background sources include the UK Gambling Commission's safer-gambling guidance, ASA/CAP gambling and tipster advertising guidance, and structured third-party tip records where methodology is visible. Commercial terms should always be checked on the live merchant checkout.
